Good day everyone ! We hope this finds you all well and healthy !
We have great news ! It‘s our pleasure to announce to you all that the school will reopen officially for registration, and evaluations for level classification, on Thursday SEPTEMBER 23rd, 2021.
We remind you that the school has a NEW HOME, that will help facilitate adhering to current rules, with 3 large classes, a waiting area outside of those classes, bathrooms for each classroom and plenty of nearby parking!
Our new sponsors for our activities is the Vanier 234 Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, located right across the street from the Roxboro train station, at 3, 4th avenue south, in Roxboro. Parking is either along the street, in the lot of the closed restaurant across the street, or pretty much anywhere in the adjacent train station parking. The train itself isn’t running due to REM construction of course, but the parking is available. The following buses will take you straight to the train station as well : 209, 213, 468 , 68 .
Eric will be present to register everyone as of 18:30, and newcomers can come at whatever time they desire, but for returning chanter students, teachers will be doing individual evaluations to place you in the best class for you. Don’t forget your chanter!
Tuition is $125/session, which will be 11 weeks long, to begin AFTER registration night, September 30th, and to end on December 9th. A $25 per session fee is also applicable for those participating in the practical piping class/piping circle, same as last year.
Classes for levels 2, 3 and 4 will continue to be held from 7:00 to 8:00, and drumming, level 1 and piping circle from 8:00 to 9:00. Some small delays are to be expected due to the need to clean all surfaces between groups.
IMPORTANT : In order to begin classes safely and promptly on September 30th, IT IS ESSENTIAL that you be present to register on september 23rd!
We will be sending a list of guidelines for Covid-related safety measures in the coming days.
NOTES FOR NEWCOMERS : We expect that you pay your registration in full, but if after a few weeks you find out that piping is not for you, we will extend a full refund of the unused portion of the session. Practice chanters, drum practice pads and stick can be purchased through the school at the prices noted below, or you can order them online yourself. We will guide you in that process when you come to register, to ensure you order the proper gear. There is also a one-time fee of $15 for printed material, which will be good for as long as you are a student of the school.
